Alaska Adventures

Today I'm remembering the beauty I was enjoying a year ago in Alaska. I have visited multiple times and it's always a splendid adventure.
Last year Nate and I rented a car and explored Juneau. We went rock climbing in Skagway then drove into the grand Canadian Yukon (something I highly recommend)! It was an incredible experience...the views were beyond belief, and we were even blessed to see a bear coming across the road foraging for food as we happened to be driving by.
When visiting Ketchikan, I highly recommend making time to relax and enjoy the Bering Sea Crab Fisherman's Tour (which I've taken more than once) on the Aleutian Ballad (famous for the rogue wave that nearly capsized it on season two of Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch). I could write a whole blog post about this wonderful tour and the lovely people who run it. It's possible to encounter wildlife, including crabs (of course), whales, octopus, and sea otters just to name a few. But for me the highlight is making our way to the protected waters of Annette Island to experience dozens of bald eagles soaring over our heads where they nest.
I have cruised Glacier Bay twice with Princess Cruise Lines and both times were unique beautiful experiences. Glacier Bay National Park is an obvious highlight of any trip to Alaska. If you're lucky enough to see and hear one of the giants calving up close you're in for a truly breathtaking experience. Nate and I have even had the pleasure of hauling a small piece of glacier out of the water to hold in our hands...yep it's as cold as it sounds!
While I can't wait to start planning my next Alaska trip and I'm longing to go back to that crisp cold air, I'm excited to be heading on a fun adventure this weekend...where should I visit next?
